I remember the day they came. It was earlier than expected, and we rushed to get things ready for them. When we first saw them, they were scared, and hungry. They clung to their oldest sister Juana.

At only 9 years old, Juana acted as the mother of her younger 4 siblings. They never left her side. Juana even chose to sleep in the little girls room so that her little sisters wouldn't be scared and confused at night.

Now that these guys are all happy and adjusted, and they love their life here at Eagle's Nest, Juana decided that she wanted to join the other older girls in 'the big girl room'. This is a huge step for her! She knows that they are safe, and she can be a kid again. We rejoiced as we switched her things to the other room, and her sisters watched on happily knowing they are loved and cared for, and will never go hungry again.
