When you serve someone, do you do it for them, or for you? Are you truly wanting to make their life better, or do you just want to receive a pat on the back?

Its so easy to do it for ourselves , to bring the poor orphans candy because we want to feel good, or build a house for the widow because everyone will think we are so great if we do.

"Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord..." Ephesians 6:7

But, we're not supposed to serve so that we get a warm fuzzy feeling inside, because we're not supposed to serve so that we get the glory. When we serve others, we are serving God, and He alone deserves all the glory.

  1. This is so true! And definitely something we all need to think about when we do something... who are we doing it for?
