One Day-One Lunch-One Friend.

Its that time of the year again. February 3rd will mark the 4th annual One Day-One Lunch! (Click here to read how it all got started.)

Our mission at Village of Hope is to provide faith, family, and a future to those in need. Many of the children at Village of Hope have never been to school before. Some because they could never afford it, others because they weren't allowed in because of their disease. Some of our children are 16 and in second grade, others are teenage moms and had to drop out to take care of their babies. When I ask them what their plans are for their future they tell me they want to be doctors and lawyers and teachers. Fashion designers and police men. Each and every one of them has a dream, and it includes finishing school first.

These kids may come from some of the hardest and saddest circumstances I have ever heard of- but stil they have goals just like any other kid. They want to leave their past in the past and move on to their future. At Village of Hope-they have been given a new beginning.

We have found schools that can help them to achieve their goals- deaf schools, schools where they can finish two grades in one year, a homeschool program so some can study here because their circumstances make it hard for them to be in a normal school. We want to help them to have the best future they can have, because we know that God has big plans for them, but because they require special schools, our expenses rise.

This year, the money raised from One Day-One Lunch will go towards future for our kids.

Will you join me in giving up your lunch and investing in someone's future? This year we have a bit of a twist- we want YOU to invite a friend out to not do LUNCH. Share the mission. Give future.

John replied, "If you have two shirts, give on to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry." - Luke 3:11

  2. My 6 year old daughter has chosen to use her 7th birthday (Feb 3rd) as a fundraiser for this. I have read from you blog before to her, using you as a role model to her.
